Required Documents

Passport & Travel Documents
Required High PriorityYour passport is the primary identification document for your Express Entry application. It must be valid for the entire duration of your application process.
What You Need:
- Current passport (all pages)
- Previous passports (if applicable)
- Travel documents or permits
Important Notes:
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date
- Include all pages, even blank ones
- If passport expires soon, renew it before applying
Birth Certificate
Required High Priority LiveYour birth certificate establishes your identity, age, and place of birth. It's a crucial document for immigration applications.
What You Need:
- Original birth certificate
- Certified copy (if original not available)
- English or French translation
Important Notes:
- Must be issued by government authority
- Hospital certificates are not accepted
- If lost, obtain replacement from issuing authority
Police Certificates (PCC)
Required Time-Sensitive Coming SoonPolice certificates confirm you have no criminal record in countries where you've lived for 6 months or more since age 18.
What You Need:
- PCC from current country of residence
- PCC from previous countries (if applicable)
- Original certificates (not copies)
Important Notes:
- Valid for 6 months from issue date
- Apply early as processing can take weeks
- Some countries require fingerprints
